Our Story
Where this began.
Bloompurpose was founded by Shequetta Matthews out of a deep conviction that stable housing is not a privilege, it is the foundation from which everything else grows. Throughout my career as a former Dallas County Probation Officer, I witnessed firsthand how the lack of stable housing often became one of the greatest barriers to long-term success. Those experiences inspired the creation of Bloompurpose. I wanted to provide more than housing; I wanted to create a place where individuals could find stability, dignity, and the opportunity to move forward with confidence. A place where respect, accountability, and community create a foundation for growth and new beginnings. The name Bloompurpose reflects my belief that no matter what challenges a person has faced, prosperity is possible. Just as a flower blooms despite difficult conditions, people can overcome adversity and thrive when given the right foundation.

Shequetta Matthews founded Bloompurpose with a mission rooted in compassion and structure. Her work is driven by the belief that every person, regardless of their past, deserves a dignified place to live and a community that holds them accountable to their own growth. She brings hands-on leadership to every aspect of the program.

At Bloompurpose, structure is not a restriction, it is a form of respect. Our program is designed for individuals who are capable of independent living and committed to meeting their obligations. House expectations, community standards, and program guidelines exist to protect every resident and create an environment where growth is possible.
